I'm ok with it, vocal fry is an inherently masculine trait. It's very subtle and fits well with a deep voice, most people wouldn't notice. When women try it, it sticks out and sounds annoying to some bc their voice is too high. I don't care about personally. George Sanders, notorious movie villain did it all the time which is why he was a perfect VA for Sher Khan, in the Jungle Book, it gives off the vibe of a large tiger or lion. If it's done right, conveys a sense of power and calmness.
