We don't know, not everyone is signaling that he's using a bitaxe. And people may be mining stealth with them too. With that being said. Solo blocks are rare these days.

Technically, it's just an ASIC chip like those in the bigger ones which we know find blocks regularly.

True, true, I guess it really is a "lottery" with very low odds and no way to actually quantify. But I guess this particular device is more about the novelty and educational aspects. Plus it's just a damn cool concept 😎

It's much more than that IMO. Imagine miner capitulation or blackrock captured mining farms. An army of Bitaxes can singlehandedly keep the network running, if needed.

That's a very noble goal and I am fully on board for it, but how many Bitaxes would be required to compete with a mega mining farms if they're captured? Hundreds of thousands likely, (I understand bitaxe isn't the only option out there of course)

I 100% back the concept of decentralised mining for at least your above mentioned reason, i'm just sceptical enough people are taking it that seriously to make a meaningful difference yet... what are your thoughts on that?

I think we have a long way to go

You're right. They can't compete. But if anyone were to shut them down, things are different.

True 😊 and there's no harm in a bit more security for the network. The more, the merrier. 😊
