I think privacy is this alt-coin cycle's hypetrain.

This is how powerful Monero is. They won't even talk about it. They have to make a cryptocurrency that has a backdoor in it for people that want privacy and never mention Monero. But people that are in the know will find the truth and like good sheep will follow leaders that have the right message. Ultimately, they may have won the battle, but they won't win the war.

Started hearing ads on whatifalthist this summer for it, seemed incongruous and a bit desperate. The tech is interesting but the founder poisoned the brand long ago. I assume it's a surveillance scheme in search of a tyrant at this point, but there is probably some worthwhile tech there for improving btc if only on higher layers. I'll choose Monero if I really need a privacy and evash won't cut it...
