First full day on NixOS, thoughts:

- Useless on stable channel if you need your packages any sort of up to date. Use unstable.

- nix-shell is a game changer for me. Being able to check a reproducible development environment schema into git with the project is 🤌

- Copy pasting the Nvidia stuff from Nix Wiki and rebooting was ironically about the easiest I've ever gotten this 3070 working.

- I appreciate that KDE Plasma came *stock.* I wish more distro's would quit screwing around with DEs. Knowledge of DEs should be transferable regardless of distro. Let me customize it myself.

- Package management takes some getting used to, but it is not more difficult. Nix installs very little without being told to, so your system will be very clean. Just adding things as I've needed them has resulted in a pleasant experience devoid of most of the useless icons (LibreOffice, etc) clogging up my menu.

- systemd-boot should be cast into Mount Doom and destroyed. There are instructions for putting Grub back where it belongs.

Overall, a very fast, clean, and appealing experience. I'll post more as I explore.
