It's a sad leftover from legacy social media. I hope someday I can have separate lists categorizing people I follow for different reasons, and have the option to keep them private if I want. Rather than a public follower list, I could have a public "people I trust" list.
i would like that as well. even though it's kind of a legacy social media feature. it's a good one though.
