#GDPR adventure of the day: mailinglist that I don't really remember signing up for - but maybe I was a nice mood - has an unsubscribe link at the bottom.

The page asks me to confirm my request to unsubscribe, but before I can click on OK, a cookie wall popup appears with the usual dark pattern that makes rejection of cookies almost impossible.

Once I figured that out it redirected to the main page, so I had to go back to my email and try to unsubscribe again. Which worked this time.

They love to waste your time with this bs. Any time I see this I just mark the email as spam and get on with my life. Sorry pal, this ain't baseball, one strike and you're out.

I often do that as well, but sometimes these mailinglists are run by non-technical folks who just use some marketing SAAS, not knowing how obnoxious it is.

a BIG European telecom company spams me a lot on my Gmail account. If I click unsubscribe, they show me a form that asks my email address. I put my address, click Submit, get:
