Pretty sure that Mastodon and Nostr need to stick together BUT (automatic) cross posting is not the way.

I don't have any iron in this forge, but why is cross posting not the way?

I was primarily thinking about automatic/involuntarily appearing on the other platform. E.g. in searches I sometimes find more “woke” users and think, no way would they be on Nostr, and more often or not they have “…@mostr.pub” or other Mastodon derived NIP-05s.

Voluntarily publishing same or similar content to different platforms is fine, as long as your are willing to interact. Accounts that never seem to reply I kind of consider spam. Same as “noreply@example.com” mail addresses.
