Just saw Interstellar again for the first time since I saw it in theaters back in 2014

Knowing what I now do about NASA & the moon landing...there is definitely some clever propaganda snuck in there

My favorite is Cooper's conference with the teachers early in the movie, where they're villified as the bad guys for changing the textbooks to call the original moon landings fake 😅😅

Plus just NASA being generally pumped up as super sophisticated, high tech and ambitious throughout the film

Researching too much makes you look at practically all hollywood movies different, that's for sure

Former President Bill Clinton in his 2004 autobiography, My Life, states: "Apollo 11 astronauts Buzz Aldrin and Neil Armstrong had left their colleague, Michael Collins, aboard spaceship Columbia and walked on the moon...The old carpenter asked me if I really believed it happened. I said sure, I saw it on television. He disagreed; he said that he didn't believe it for a minute, that 'them television fellers' could make things look real that weren't. Back then, I thought he was a crank. During my eight years in Washington, I saw some things on TV that made me wonder if he wasn't ahead of his time."

Bro, you're becoming unreasonable. Just because there is a bunch of government lies doesn't mean everything is. Look at incentives.

In the case of Moon landing, there's hard evidence that it happened.

Can you see the wires ? 😉

Retroreflectors.

Anyway. In practice it doesn't really matter if it was fake or not. It's not affecting us. In contrast, inflation steals, plants poison us, schools brainwash us... Focus on things that are directly harmful and preventable on individual level.

It’s like this with many things: hospital dramas with groups of brilliant doctors that passionately delve into the mystery of some illness when the reality is they’re rushed and are really only rewarded for selling treatments for symptoms, law enforcement shows where the police or feds are moral paragons that bend the rules and live to catch the bad guy when most cops are decent and really don’t want to get shot or lose their pension, the military is portrayed as hyper competent and well managed when really it’s a megacorp that employs a huge range of IQs and tendencies to violence.
