No, because I cant be arsed. Heating it up is good for a while, definitely kills weed seeds etc but most of my weeds are things I want to eat anyway so I don't bother.

I'm doing it because I need to get some compost quickly. I'm hoping to build more bioreactors and other static piles. Chasing my tail a bit right now.

Makes sense worth doing too if you are on acidic soil too as it makes the ph higher. It's limestone everywhere here so I would have to leave it anyway.

A bigger issue is the pH of our well which is above 9.

That is pretty harsh even with everything being limestone here its only 8.4. Luckily I have plenty of vinegar to use.

I've been filling IBC totes and using citric acid. Ideally they would be filling with rain water but apparently it doesn't rain in the summer here anymore.
