⚡️🇪🇺 ICYMI - The European Parliament adopted Wednesday a proposal calling to ban social media for teenagers under the age of 16.

483 MEPs voted in favor while 92 voted against. If it becomes law, people will likely have to use IDs to log into their profiles, making anonymous accounts impossible.

This is being promoted under the guise of "protecting children", but in reality it would require everyone to provide ID to open a social media account, so they can identify anyone on social media who disagrees with their approved narrative…

This is the slippery slope toward a centralized, permissioned internet. Mandatory ID kills anonymity, which is essential for whistleblowers, dissidents, and marginalized voices globally. The cure (ID) is worse than the disease (age verification) when the goal is control. 🛑
