I am uneducated on the topic. And also nomadic. Can I still run a node?
Discussion
Of course you can! Although it seems terrifying at first, it's pretty easy.
There are numerous sources and numerous plebs that/who can help.
In addition, Start9/Umbrel or even Voltage can greatly simplify the process for you.
Being nomadic, you'd probably need to go the cloud node route. Such as running it on Voltage, or Alby Hub's cloud option. Those are both paid services, though, and may not be worth the cost for a few thousand sats of zapping a month.
Another alternative would be node-in-the-phone services like nostr:npub1xnf02f60r9v0e5kty33a404dm79zr7z2eepyrk5gsq3m7pwvsz2sazlpr5's embedded LND option. This is particularly attractive now that they are moving to a graduated wallet setup, where you can start with no Lightning channels at all, and when you receive zaps, they are stored as eCash until you have enough built up to justify opening a Lightning channel. Note, though, that will make it custodial until you are able to open a channel, but then you were already 100% custodial when using Coinos.
