ah, man, in australia, the most common noise you hear on roofs is from possums... and even worse if they have a way into your ceiling cavity, little fuckers
possums are so funny... they have a new baby, marsupials the baby claws its way up to the pouch and sits there drinking off the titty until they are too big for the pouch and then the possum carries the baby on its back most of the time and then when they pop out another one and the other one gets too big for the pouch they have this raucus fight with the back-riding baby that will usually occur late at night (they are nocturnal) and the screeching and scratching on the plasterboards and whatnot, lol, it's hilarious
