There are a lot of legal protections for people in their private homes. Warrants are required, which require disclosed legal grounds for doing the search.
But there are massive legal carveouts for invading upon people who are travelling, initially to protect airplanes from bombs, but used for all kinds of government dirty deeds now that don't need any damn reason at all.
Keep this in mind when travelling. I prefer not to travel.

i am all for creating some space between myself and the rest of humanity by living on a large lot of land, but whenever politicians start imposing restrictions on my movement they need to die.
it was never about anyone's safety. not with TSA after 911 not with lockdowns during Covid. nothing government ever does is to protect you - only to enslave you.
You misunderstand. I don't like travelling because I don't like travelling: the cost, the bother, feeling separated from my dog. Government oppression and CO2 are at the bottom of that list of reasons.
But some of my followers are moreso targets than I am and it's good to understand the relative risks.

but freedom of movement is one of the fundamental freedoms under attack right now along with things like privacy and freedom of speech. most people still don't understand what is going on but i have an entire section of my site dedicated to this issue.

the attacks on this freedom are nonstop and 99% of people don't see them for what they are. for example most don't understand that Diversity for Pilots, Boeings falling apart etc. is all part of the same agenda as TSA, Lockdowns, Airline Covid Restrictions, Urbanism and on and on and on ...
it is all part of the same drive going on for DECADES now to essentially put people under house arrest ... or limit them to 15 minute walking radius ( WEF's 15 minute cities / Harari's "human settlements" )
