Word of advice. I HIGHLY advise against using Bluetooth. No point of having a hardware wallet or using bitcoin if all your transactions and their addresses get sent straight to highly centralized and monitored networks. Your essentially doxxing yourself.
Discussion
Even Adam Back, the creator of Jade, has heavily advised against this.
That’s interesting. Do you have the source of this?
I don't unfortunately. It was in one of the many interviews I've watched with him. Lol. I know it's on YouTube.
Thanks anyway. I will consider getting my gf to use a desktop with usb instead 🙏
I think they even have the option to download firmware with Bluetooth disabled
Desktop with USB is definitely best.
I am still always a little afraid that some kind of malware might spread via usb 😅
Do you know some good resources on this topic?
No. I just figured using USB is always best because that way you're not broadcasting your addresses and transaction data over a corporate owned network like Bluetooth. They can just follow you once they notice the transaction is on the BTC blockchain. And using USB and avoiding Bluetooth seems to be a well-enforced narrative amongst the BTC community. I'm sure you can find articles or videos discussing this.
🙏💪
Thanks mate. I personally don’t use Bluetooth. My gf is not a tech person so it is a better trade off to use a hardware wallet with Bluetooth than leaving funds on the exchange i think.
