It's the trade off.
I would hope the people in charge of reducing government inefficiencies would be competent people but hopefully they focus on domestic social spending rather than military spending.
While I'm sure there's bloat in the military sometimes precision is needed, and we might not know why 50,000 bolts are being ordered, and might say it's not needed but ends up it's a crucial part.
Only time will tell, I think strengthing our budget will let us compete against China, and Russia more effectively.
