Centralized rules

Centralization, by its very nature is unverifiable.

Huizinga says play creates order. That is by messing around order or rules are created. In some way I think religion is closer to Huizinga's idea of play. Once it is institutionalized and forced on people it is no longer voluntary and therefore no longer play.

Fascinating! Which Huizinga is this? I’d like to read more.

Check out homo ludens it is a short book but gives a fascinating twist on things when viewed as play.

Super. Thanks!
