It makes a difference if it is “de facto” or “de iure”, it does.
I’ve learned it but I might still be leaving some day.
In another order of things, Spanish is the “de facto” dominant language in certain areas of this country.
I think it’s just wise to accept it. That won’t be changing any time soon.
Or it will be changing. There are thresholds friend. The expectations are unreasonable and will be rejected. I should just collect one thousand buddies from the US and take over an area in Saudi Arabia or France and expect everyone to speak English? How do you think that would end?
Badly, for sure, but that is not what happened in most of those areas. Spanish was already spoken there for a long time.
Of course there’s been more migrations over time due to many factors.
