He’s right on the tribal stuff and whilst the Hutu/Tutsi comparison is a bit jarring knowing what went down there, when you take into account only 4% of Dems marrying Republicans and basically refusing to hire them it does show that American politics has gone beyond mere ideas and has become central to people’s worldviews. They are essentially two peoples now, far too divided to be held together under the same banner much longer. I don’t think the 50 States of the USA will make it to 2030.
Also hard to disagree that the Federal Government are emulating a shittier version of Communist China when you take in totality how the State is acting with censorship, partisanship, lying about data etc.
Again tying that back to the Soviets doing a shittier version of capitalism in its last ditch attempt to compete as a superpower - that’s where knowing your history can be super valuable to see where the world is headed. Those that see this stuff are going to be the ones prepared for the opportunities that arise as well as to avoid the worst of the hardships which will be imposed.
