If nobody went to heaven before Jesus, where did they go?

Our hope is a physical resurrection of the body.

For if the dead are not raised, then Christ has not been raised either. And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins. Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ are lost. If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are of all people most to be pitied. But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. (1 Corinthians 15:16-20)

Martha answered, "I know he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day." (John 11:24)

Sounds like lots of contradiction

Prior to Jesus, everyone who died either went to Hell, or what is now called the limbo of the fathers (in older renditions, also considered Hell). When Jesus died for our (including their) sins, the just were freed from that limbo, and are now in Heaven with Him.

When we die, our soul will be immediately judged and go to Hell or (possibly with a stop in purgatory) Heaven. At the end of the world, our bodies will be resurrected also, and we will all be judged again generally, collectively, and publicly. The damned will return to Hell with their bodies in whatever state they are in, while the just will return to Heaven with glorified/restored bodies.

Where does Scripture say this?

Not all facts are in Scripture. This one is. But you still have to read it, not cut pieces out of context.

If it isn't in Scripture, where is the evidence?

Sorry, my bad. Where is the evidence for your beliefs about the afterlife?

Many times the gift of eternal life and everlasting life is referenced in the bible for those that believe Jesus died for our sins.

I do believe in eternal/everlasting life but I don't believe that it means heaven. I believe that we were made for physical existence.

It says somewhere in genesis I believe humans only will live til 120 on average due to our mortal nature. At least I have memory somewhere about it. I will need to search.

“My Spirit shall not strive with man forever, for he is indeed flesh; yet his days shall be one hundred and twenty years. (NKJV)”

This does not address eternal life or the afterlife. Things will change when God renews the earth.

What do you believe happen to us when we die and how it will unfold? Im curious on your perspective.

I believe that there will be a bodily resurrection of the dead on a renewed and restored earth. Everyone will rise again. Those who are saved will be raised to life to live physically on Earth for all eternity. Those who are not saved will experience judgement and perish (their souls will be destroyed).
