Listening to Scott Bessent on CNBC, it has become apparent what the Administration’s strategy is: blame Biden for the coming recession (didn’t he hand over the keys in January?), complain about America’s trading partners about their retaliation to U.S.-imposed tariffs, keep talking down the broadening correction in the stock market as being just a wobble and nothing else, and try to ensure that we all focus on the long-term even though Keynes assured us that by then, we’ll all be dead. Bravo!
