Its basically a mini computer. I use it to browse tor, make cold “airgapped” electrum wallets. Theres a service called raspiblitz, its basically like umbrel where its a free node software specifically for the raspberry pi. You probably want the 8gb raspberry pi 4B if you want the fastest lightning node. Theres cheaper options that work fine for other things like the 2gb one

So, I have my NAS connected to a virtual machine and node.js running…does this replace that set up?

You dont need a virtual machine on a raspberry pi. Its is own machine and has a static ip

It’s because of lack of funding we haven’t gone with an additional device but it’s gonna end up moving that direction, once to support that purchase.
