Personally the only situation I think this would be true is if both the node and non node runner hold and believe in bitcoin and don’t want to support a forked version of bitcoin, then the node runner can continue running the real bitcoin protocol and ignore the new forked version where the non node runner doesn’t have as much say nor the ability to protect it.
