Will there ever be a place for Ads on Nostr? 🧐

If we had a YouTube clone built on nostr, would people object to an ad-supported option in addition to v4v?

Rethinking ad sales from the bottom up to emphasize privacy and anonymity could be huge in helping content creators and nostr project developers make a living on nostr without compromising on our values.

Zap.stream is going to ad video uploads at some point. The code is all done. I'm not sure why nostr:npub1v0lxxxxutpvrelsksy8cdhgfux9l6a42hsj2qzquu2zk7vc9qnkszrqj49 hasn't pushed the launch button yet.

But sure, I think it's naive to say that ads would never come to Nostr. Someone is going to bring them to some client at some point.

I think if we make the first move to create the ad platform that doesn't compromise on nostr values, it can pay immensely down the line...

It has to be done correctly. I wonder if a way to opt out is the solution? A user could be offered a choice to see ads or provide their own value for value if they choose to do so?
