Yeah any used dell workstation should work fine, I wouldn't go with tails, that should be for hardcore privacy activities

Every nostrich has their own distro preference, I like PopOS because I use Nvidia. Ubuntu always a safe bet to get started

And even then, Nvidia is finally open sourcing drivers. (With a bit of a catch)

Nouveau dev, Ben Skeggs, now works for Nvidia.
