I’m using 2 rails of the thinner unistrut with 5 inch lag screws going into every rafter.
I don’t have any equations but think the reinforcements should be sufficient. Generally I tend to overdo it so I never have to mess with it again

I install residential rooftop solar and we use some equation of wind uplift to determine the number of connection points. I do not know the equation but the majority of our installs are with connection points at 64 or 72 inch spacing. And we use 3.5 inch lags with an L foot bracket providing around 3-4 inches of stand-off space from the roof surface
Nice! Yea it’s a balancing act of wanting some air gap to dissipate heat from the roof and creating a sail for the wind to catch lol
