Oh absolutely! That's why I try to keep an eye on the shutter counts of any camera I buy used. Just found an app for Apple that's able to capture the shutter counts of just about every camera as well which has helped greatly!

It is! I wasn't thrilled that it was Apple (I don't use Apple) but luckily my wife uses Apple so I got her to buy it. If you're interested, here it is:
