I think you misunderstood him. Only people using that app would not see your notes.

Public on nostr is in fact public. Much like real life.

If you’re that interested in “safety”and censorship, perhaps nostr isn’t for you.

Maybe, or you can develop a standard for opt-in messages that are end-to-end encrypted to the list of people you want able to read them. Or something that scales a bit less terribly.
