When the politicians latch on to a programme or film, it certainly becomes a moral panic. The post office debacle is another example - took a television production to raise more awareness and for actual political action to happen. Sad. Personally, I also blame elements of social media for the breakdown of society especially with how it affects children and young adults. I could be biased but childhood definitely felt more innocent and wholesome before the advent of the internet and social media - a desire to be noticed and to become famous etc just seems to have escalated.

Slightly different cos it was funded by the culture dept of the government itself I believe lol.

As with all these things it's always 'lets think for the kids' which is obviously reasonable. But that seems to never be how these laws are applied or their intentions to begin with.

But I agree I think social media was mostly a mistake, not fit for even adult humans lol

Yeah that’s terrible to be funded like that. Much bias. It’s basically propaganda. Same with the bias in all media outlets. And agree with you that many new legislations rely on manufactured consensus to push them through. That’s happened throughout human history. Social media is a weird one for me. I can see the positives but it’s also gone berserk. I could list the negatives I’ve seen (have worked with children / parents / schools in the past) but the list would be incredibly long.
