Self defense is defined as protection against another human.

As a Canadian I assure you we are definitely allowed to carry firearms in the wilderness for protection against animals - EXCEPT in a National or Provincial park (where they were).

I didn’t realize that’s how Canadians cleverly define self defense so people think it’s ok.

Thankfully in the US we don’t have to justify why we carry firearms. We don’t need a reason.

Anyway, Canadians are definitely allowed to *use* lethal force - and even firearms - for self defense.

We just aren't allowed to CARRY them for that reason.

It's dumb and I'm not defending it. But most Americans (and Canadianss too) are incredibly misinformed about self defense in Canada.

Violence is a people problem. There’s no such thing as gun violence, knife violence, etc. Such wording is just a lie to make laws aimed at making victims seem to make sense.
