The fediverse is currently made up mostly of Missing Stairs. The HX (Human experience) for newbies is frequently bewildering. We, the devs and veterans who have encouraged people to escape here from the DataFarms, need to fix all these Missing Stairs. Before people start to break their legs.

I'm speaking metaphorically of course. But social software that's confusing - especially when its interfaces makes implicit privacy or "reach" promises they can't keep - can lead to real harm.
