I try to let keep my channels close to 50/50 balance each side. If I let it go
All one sided, I thought nothing would route. Am I wrong about that? I’m new to this but thought that was how it worked. Im looking for any advice someone’s willing to give. Thanks
Mate keeping things balanced is near in impossible for me. Only way I have found is put your fees high. This stops liquidity draining but the number of routes drops significantly.
I opened a Chanel with alby. 10,000,000 sats. I got the Chanel balanced. I had one it drained all my incoming on that in minutes. So I have left it with all liquidity in my side and since then no routes thru that chanel at all
What I have learned is I have no clue what I’m doing.
I’ve done pretty well with number of routes but need to rebalance to keep things moving. I have increased fees to slow the drain. I just don’t want to mess up my partners. I don’t mind paying the rebalance fees. I see it as pay to play and I’m keeping them in check.
My node has grown a fair bit over the last few weeks and rebalance fees are adding up. I have set lightning terminal auto fee adjust and see how that goes. I just have to control my urge to rebalance manually. My ocd is killing me. I’ve had terminal set for a few weeks but can’t help myself. Must resist
Oh yeah, you’re running a lot more channels than I am. When I rebalance with using your channel, does it cause you any problems? I don’t recall the last time I did, but I’m sure I have in the past. I don’t want to
Mess you up by rebalancing, I assumed it was a good thing if I balance our channel. 🤙🏻
Causes me no issues. Actually saves me doing it
Anyway the fees you see going forward will be auto so just k is it’s not me if they get jacked up
Cool, that what I was thinking. No worries on your fees, as long as my channel partners are happy, I’m cool
with whatever routes I get.
I may look at that auto fee thing if get a couple of more channels open. But I think I’m going back into stacking mode for a little while. I probably won’t open anymore channels this year unless someone force closes me. 🤙🏻
