John the Valah, a Romanian Orthodox Christian, lived a life of piety in the 16th century. Captured by the Tatars, he was offered freedom if he converted to Islam, but he refused to renounce his #Faith. Facing torture, he remained steadfast. Finally, he was martyred for Christ, refusing to deny his beliefs. The Church honors his unwavering devotion.

Holy Martyr John, pray to God for us, that we too may be granted strength to stand firm in our #Orthodoxy, even in the face of adversity. May your prayers protect us from the temptations of the world. Through your #Intercession, lead us closer to Christ! #Prayer #Martyr
