I don't think there are any rules man.
Value for value is inherently more about the relationship & less about the transaction.
The way you've approached it seems pretty closely aligned to me.
Selling digital assets for a fixed price doesn't feel right. Bitcoiners don't tend to recognise digital property rights but they do like to reciprocate value.
