Shai-Hulud
A rare oarfish, often seen in Japanese folklore as a harbinger of earthquakes, has washed ashore in Playa Quemada, Canary Islands—roughly 25 miles south of Las Palmas.
These deep-sea giants typically dwell at depths of around 3,200 feet and can grow up to 56 feet long.
