Currency doesn't create power, it's the result of it. Power exists before currency.
If you think you're going to switch to new currency to evade power, power will switch to that new currency and take it over. Doesn't matter how mathematically awesome anyone thinks it is. Power will either subsume it, or it if can't be controlled enough for that power's tastes, it will be shut down.
Anyone who says otherwise would do well to remind themselves that bitcoin, in practice, is merely a line on the stock chart and ask themselves why that is.
