Some people asked why I hated #nostr last time I tried it.

I think open source is inherently more difficult to get good user interface (same as lightning wallets IMO) and I didn’t see the need to sacrifice that for open source when it comes to Twitter. I tried Damus back then and didn’t like it at all. It wasn’t clunky.

However, as I spent more time on Twitter the amount of time being wasted kept going up. Especially since Elon took over. It wasn’t a tool anymore. I feel like the algorithm was being improved to keep me on more and more to the benefit of Twitter.

I want to take back control of what I see and how I spend my time.

I’m off Twitter for good.

I agree about the open source UI, to an extent. However, there are some open source projects (I won't name them), which, in an effort to counter the UI deficiency phenomenon, swing too far the other way and slap a stunning over-engineered, "beautiful" UI on a product that is half baked. This is much worse, IMHO

This why I’ve now moved to nostr. Twitter was parasitic.
