So I don't disagree with giving individuals tools so that they can make their nostr experience what they want it to be. I don't think you'll ever be able to completely stop the pile on effect that they are concerned with. Even twitter really can't stop that fully. Even if they lock their account and delete the post, people just screenshot the tweet and shit on them without them knowing. I'm indifferent to having a true block because of that. The person still potentially hundreds of people mocking them, they just cant see it. Again, as long as the individual has the power to make those decisions I'm fine with whatever tools are created.
I'm sure people have walked away from Nostr for all sorts of reasons, I just think content, ease of use, and network effects are probably the biggest obstacles to adoption. Harassment is probably a concern for some, but with 16000 average daily users or something like that, I can't imagine its the primary reason
