Spent a few hours getting an email server setup just to find out my ISP blocks port 25 inbound. What a productive day.

Damn, that sucks! Can you get a VPS somewhere? Or a better ISP, if that's cheaper?
I've had ISPs do all sorts of dickish stuff, but blocking INBOUND port 25 takes the cake. Won't do a thing to stop outgoing spam, but prevents customers from competiting with the ISP email service >>:-/
Yea, option two sounds appealing! I looked unto Teksavvy and they offer faster speeds for $20/m less! They are our last independent provider too 😞
Ouch. I feel ya. Not on that specifically but I’ve been in the same boat for sure.
I can send email out fine (except Hotmail blocks me for now) but it just can't recieve. Smtp is exclusive to the ISPs service it seems.
Too be fair, I had never initially intended to set one up one I had started with the service.
I feel it is quite important now (I need to gtf away from google)
They may unblock on request. Have you asked?
If not, workaround is to run a hidden MX receiver setup where someone else is the advertised MX receiver and then they relay to you on another port.
I could do it for you. Or, better yet, grab yourself a cheap server somewhere and do it yourself. One of OVH's low-end Kimsufi branded line should work great unless you have crazy high volume.
