Mempool policy is important for lightning. It is not important for bitcoin. Lightning is not bitcoin. It is one way to send bitcoin.

Policy is not important for mining centralization. Lots of smart bitcoiners seem think it is. They are wrong.

It's time to refocus on what really matters. Right now, what really matters is self-sovereign mining.

Policy is a distraction. Bitcoin will be captured if we can't fix mining.

what part of mempool policy (OP_RETURN / datacarriersize ) or other data is important to LN?

The important part for LN is eliminating pinning vectors. The most important recent upgrades in this regard are the improvements to anchor outputs and transaction relay. It's hard to overstate how massive these improvements are for LN security.

Data carrier limits and OP_RETURN are irrelevant to lightning.
