Today, the United States joined Russia, North Korea, Belarus, and 14 other Moscow-aligned nations in voting against a U.N. General Assembly resolution condemning Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and calling for the return of its occupied territories.
The resolution passed with overwhelming support:
- 93 countries voted in favor
- 18 against
- 65 abstained
Notably, China, Iran, and Cuba abstained, while the United States and Israel cast their votes alongside Russia and North Korea.
