Already whispers of a Fed rate cut.

Maybe this is a ploy to force Powell into a cut because the Fed may be concerned about inflation.

Trump has already fired one central banker, but if he fires Powell (which he can do) it may reflect very poorly on the US dollar, thus the risk is too high to do that.

Rather, pressure Powell and bend him to the will of the President and not the central bank mandate where inflation is the Keystone to operations.

I think you're right. It seems ri me that a forced crisis is long over due. I'll wager that dropping rates is just the start. A full restart of QE may be in the cards too.
