Random thoughts as I sit sick on this Sunday :

The US federal reserve notes (both dollars and coins) have “In God We Trust” on them.

Why does it feel like this phrase will be removed in the near future? For a society so bereft of faith/religion, how much longer can they lie about their ‘faith’ in a government controlled currency or God? It’s incongruent, and I think this is why we are in the “weak men lead to bad times” stage.

Anyway, PV nostr 🤙🏼

This is probably going to blow your mind but that wasn't always there, dollar bills pre 1950s didn't have "in God we trust". It was only added as a fear response to the red scare of communism.

That’s interesting. It’s just funny to me that many today desire soo adamantly to separate church & state (traditional values & how the government enforces those values on citizens), yet all they seem to care about is money that has that printed on it and the faith which backs it

I absolutely am in favor of a strong separation between church and state. It ensures no religion becomes so powerful as to take over the government and create a theocracy.
