Can I just say something that will make a lot of people mad 🤣

The amount of resources we put into our lightning nodes and ecash collectively. Between developing the tech and hosting the tech in addition to the risk associated with them, is far greater than the cost of buying a larger SSD and increasing the block size.

Been saying this for some time now. Not because of LN in specific but because increasing the blocksize over time is probably the only and also most simple way to allow people to own utxos.

Yeah, I say this while I know that we still need an instant transaction solution.

There is no way 10 minute confirmation will work in real life.

Something instant like LN will still be needed.

I think LN does that fine. Block increase and LN are not mutually exclusive. LN for instant txs and interop between other protocols, and block increase to allow people to own btc onchain.
