What I like about #damus is it appears there is no algorithm for what is shown to me other than connections I have with others. Is this correct?

yes follow the hashtag that you are interested in and take it from there . i can say i love this better as social media , no algoritme or ads or coentent push into your throat

I follow hashtags and mute individuals when they spam the hashtags, essentially creating my own algorithm.

yup that's correct, although this is also a huge downside as most users prefer an algorithm. we're going to have it as an option eventually, but the algo will be privacy preserving and only run on the client.

Correct. We will eventually have opt-in algos to further allow you to curate your feed. For now you just need to follow, follow hashtags if you want and then mute ppl as needed.

I don’t see notes from people/hashtags that I don’t follow. That being said, I’m not sure of a way to find out if some things are censored and don’t make it to my timeline from people I do follow.
