You bring up some good points. Firefox comes with its own recent privacy concerns. I'll dig into them on the stream.
When I check out the https://kagi.com/orion/ webpage I highly doubt, they are very important in the privacy market.
What privacy company makes a browser comparison without Mullvad Browser and Brave Browser or Onion Browser?
I am rather vowing for strengthening opensource projects, like firefox and its derivatives instead of shortsighted projects acting kind of disconnected. Since whichever Project, that is improving on Firefox, will help all users of firefox derivatives. Where opting in the apple ecosystem can not lead to transparency and openness. The apple company is not part of transparency and opensource. So no way to verify whatever claims.
Discussion
When Orion Browser comes to Linux or Android, I will defnitly take a look myself.
In general I like to try new stuff but rather use products like Firefox, which alredy have gone through many years of testing for voulnerabilities and brought up developments like rust lang. So for daily use I will probably still relay on Firefox and its derevatives.
Since I always harden my tools with Arkenfox and uBlock, for me the default behaviour is not such a big point.
But I want to check it out, to might have it in my mind for iPhone users, which want to step up their privacy without tweaking anything 😉
