Find myself having to wrap my head around v4v thinking on a regular basis.
We use to turn on the television for the show, but we paid for that content with our time watching commercials. The advertisers paid the network with hopes of turning a profit on our time, and the network paid production companies, and there’s always the trade unions administering residuals to the artists. So much noise and I’m sure there’s more to it than that.
If your trying to launch something under v4v model I think we’ll continue to see newer content paying for your attention to get off the ground. If it’s not worth it you’ll know pretty quickly. Straight signal - move onto producing better content. If successful I’d imagine they’d then attract sponsors and stop paying for attention directly. I can’t imagine doing that for long once you’re successful, but maybe you do because it serves as market research.
