I am now going to start zapping 1000 sat minimum zaps to content I genuinely like, and move away from microzaps on any content I remotely like. Fewer zaps but better signal imo.

That’s a good idea. I think I’ll up my zap amount too. I do only zap content that is original / useful / helpful / very well articulated or OC memes that actually make me lol. Real V4V stuff.
I agree with this approach 💜🙌 I jotted down these thoughts on it 👇 a few months ago. To each his/her own of course, but I think V4V only works when meaningful value is given where meaningful value is received.
I remember reading this and now I think you're on to something.
When it comes to signal vs noise, I think it’s what makes most sense. I have shifted my zap approach a few times since then and where I’ve landed for now is having a few defaults depending on the level of signal I feel is right: 100, 210, 1000, 2100, 5k, 10k. I don’t use likes and I only use the very small/micro zaps when testing wallets or someone else is testing something and I want to help them.
I'm still developing my own zapping strategy. I thought about writing about it, but this protocol changes so fast, my strategy gets outdated too soon. I'm starting to use the support button on highlighter.com for some of my favorite coders and podcasters, but it doesn't always work and I'm not rich enough to send monthly donations to everyone I would like to.
This makes sense.
That's funny. I used to do the same, but recently I reduced all of my zap presets. Still have a 1k and 10k preset for truly valuable content, but I'm sending a lot more 12 and 21 sat zaps now. I used to never zap less than 69 and 420 sats.
