Looking forward to the day when people will actually have to do physical work, instead of just sitting at home and recording themselves talk or "consulting / advising" people on matters that a computer can do better.

Find yourself a proper job now, while you are still early. Teach your kids the value of real work.

It takes all sorts to build an economy. I do a fair amount of lugging shit around, physical work isn’t a panacea.

If you offer a service and people are prepared to offer cash for it, what’s the problem?

Too many pseudo "services" built around nothing but air...and because our financial rewards system is so corrupted, they get a disproportionate amount of the money.

I can't wait until financial advisors, real-estate agents, bankers, consultants, economists, politicians, ticktockers etc all go the way of the DoDo.

They do not "serve" anyone but themselves and the fiat beast which bred them.

I can understand the frustration. It causes me many sleepless nights, especially working in a decaying industry myself. Some off it appears to be mid level management, those responsible for transmitting the orders of CEOs but don’t use their own initiative so much but humanity has evolved to this point. Tik Tokers exist because a market exists, same with real estate etc. We evolve and those jobs become unnecessary but that also means those already in those roles evolve into new ones. If all middle management became carpenters, there would be an excess of carpentry and too few resources to practice the craft.

That’s a long way of me saying I don’t know the answer but I can only think in my own terms of what will help myself and those closest to me evolve.

The town I live in has a centre with mostly closed shops, firstly a big out of town shopping centre came, which is now also dying as people shop online. There’s a huge growth for delivery drivers!

The challenge I’m setting myself is to see what can be achieved in one of these empty buildings. Can I create a different type of service that people need?

It’s quite daunting at the age of 50 but also exciting. We evolve or die out.

I can’t see the Tik Tok trade ending soon, it’s already the main market for music but I’ve chosen to opt out of that market as I agree, it sucks. We appear to be very much in the minority though.

Wishing you luck for the year ahead!
