You're right, the average home user has no need for 2 devices. The day will come when we will just plug our phones into a docking station like device that will allow us to use multiple peripherals regardless of software. The day might come when we don't even need a cellphone, the cpu will be strapped to our wrists and connect wirelessly to larger screens and whatever input devices operate with them. Sadly I fear this will not happen in my lifetime as there are too many vested interests in the status quo. No one is interested in making radical changes to hardware, all we seem to get is more emojis and AI powered electronic surveillance.
