Nostr apps are probably banned but they couldn’t ban the protocol even if they tried.
They absolutely can ban the protocol. The great firewall of China can do deep packet inspection to block activity they dont like.

Nostr prob isn't "blockable" but the apps on nostr are blocked by the apps stores yes.
Not completly blocked.
* All CCP controlled APP stores block nostr clients, people can download clients from official websites or Github (although Github is barely usable).
* some relays are blocked.
* some media servers are blocked
I wish more Chinese use Nostr network to express themself freely.
